Welcome to Maumee Valley Gardens

A challenge by US Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur for gardeners to donate excess produce to feed the hungry.

Helping NW Ohio One Garden at a Time

Join others in NW Ohio as we work together to share garden produce with the hungry of NW Ohio.  We are asking area residents to commit to share their excess bounty with those in need.

In today's economic environment, many are returning to their roots by planting vegetable gardens to augment grocery bills.  Many who are unable to create their own gardens are still in need of assistance by having healthy food choices.

Providing food to others in a time of need is doing what you normally do - sharing your bounty which we know gardens can create.  So, in addition to sharing with your family, friends, and neighbors, go one step further and help feed others.  Benefits include positive feelings through volunteerism, increasing plant growth in your landscape, beautifying your home or neighborhood, and being active in your community.

To register your commitment click here Maumee Valley Gardens.   Once your garden has been registered, you will receive drop off locations for program recipients.

You will be able to enter your donation information by visiting the Maumee Valley Gardens donation page. Registered gardeners will receive timely growing tips for the garden, a certificate of participation, invitation to a Harvest Party and Celebration, where you'll meet all the gardeners participating in this program.

Each registered garden will be assigned a garden number. If internet access is not available, pledge cards will be available as a way to track your donations to those in need.
